Sounds like a good idea for a new poll: What is your least driven LFS car?
For me, easy. RAC. Maybe only completed 3 entire laps in the past year and none of those was clean.

Quote from The General Lee :Buy a stand alone CD recorder, record the vinyls to CD then rip the CD to your computer.

Hmm, CD recorder = £385
USB deck = £96
Nope, not a well thought-out plan there, General.

Yep, I want to transfer all my old vinyls to CD for posterity, and so i can play them back on my ipod and on the cd player in the car. I know they will sound 'different' and am happy with that, don't let that concern you, it's for me to deal with.
However, if I take a line out of the amp and into the PC's soundcard input, I end up with a very big wav file, 20 - 25 mins long per LP side. I can then save this or convert to mp3 or another format on the hard drive.
But I need some software to do this else the sound is unstable and the file is massive.
Is there suitable software to record from a line-in cleanly over the entire side of an LP for input?

Driver name does not necessarily tell you the skin author.

I'm thinking of getting one of these to transfer all my old vinyl to CD and MP3 files.

Anyone tried one of these? Do they do all they claim?
Anything to look out for?

Quote from XtremDriver :If you talk about cones, I have a lot of replays with people hitting cones

It's called lag and it happens often when you do a fast lap as I done, because you drive very close to cones

So driving very close to the cones causes more lag? How exactly does that work?

Quote from teaz-R :LX6_flamed is my work yet it has been posted by someone else. I do have the psd-file.

Will have to make sure the prize goes to you if it's chosen. I know this skin as yours mate, sad people are posting others work and claiming it as their own.
The cheater should be removed from further competitions IMO.

I'm so used to my custom view now (over the bonnet, sitting central) I find it really hard to adapt to the forced view and drive accurately. It's like I have to relearn again.

Quote from thisnameistaken :You should read the rules, Al - your entry isn't valid if you've got uncleared commercial logos in there.

No worries, reposted with all fictional sponsors for my favourite skin entry, which I fear is a little too plain and retro to win anything but its the one I like the best anyway.

Quote from Mike85 :Well if S2 is coming to a finish...

Where did you get that from? Do you have an inside track to the Dev's development plan? Or is it yet more idle and negative speculation/grumbling/pointless criticism without any logic or arguments worth voicing?
Maybe the devs secretly plan the whole S2 dev program in 26 tidy steps so that by patch Z they have no choice but to release S2 final and move on to S3 development?!
Really, why on earth even bother to post such groundless stuff? Why not just not bother posting and go read another thread?

There's some metal gradient effects in photoshop which can be applied to the car sides, hood and roof, and blended in with a base coat of grey-blue and grey-purple. This gives you about the best chrome-like effect you can get with the skins. The base coats only need a touch of colour with the grey, I tend to use the Render>clouds option, then cut out the sides, to, front and rear from this and add a grey-white-grey gradient set on MULTIPLY, to each separate section.
A metal-flake effect can be achieved by using Photoshop's NOISE function.

I don't think a new track can be expected with patch Y. The main thrust of patch Y is the a.i. improvements.

+ 1 (trillion) here, be great for rally X and touring car skins being able to do matt mud and dirt, brake dust, etc. realistically without the gloss.

He said his pc can't handle the pro-skinners kits but just the black mask layer is wanted. Is this to help you skinning? or just to black off the areas you don't want for cosmetic reasons, so your skin file looks tidier?
The mask layer isn't much help as a skinning aid, you want the wireframe layer for that, to help align the areas of texture-wrapping.

Are these posts fun to have in the O/T section, or just a waste of time? Shold they be killed or allowed to proliferate?
You choose.
